Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a Retail Sales Associate in Albuquerque, NM. Under the supervision of the Front Office Manager and Sales Floor Coordinator, you will provide guest service, promote inventory, and process sales using POS systems, handling cash, travelers checks, and credit cards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of retail experience, plus the ability to lift 50 pounds, pass a background check and drug screening, and obtain a NM Alcohol Server’s

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests cordially and professionally within one minute or less.

  • Work with management and coworkers to build a strong team.
  • Provide product information and answer questions on arts, crafts, apparel, jewelry, pottery, tobacco, etc.
  • Handle all sales transactions through POS; cash, travelers checks, credit cards, and receipts.
  • Direct patrons to appropriate office for issue resolution beyond info available.
  • Answer phones politely and pass messages to the right person.
  • Perform routine tasks: restock and merchandise, label pricing, keep areas clean.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Front Office Manager and Sales Floor Coordinator. Responsible for retail sales. Provides guest service and product information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets guests cordially and professionally, within one (1) minute or less.
  • Promotes sales of inventory, using promotional in-store sales, as well using special orders. Actively participates in monthly sales incentive programs.
  • Works cooperatively with management and co-workers to develop a “Team” relationship to achieve desired business goals.
  • Provides project and artist information and answer questions regarding arts and crafts, apparel, jewelry, pottery, tobacco, etc.
  • Accurately handles all sales transactions through Point-of-Sale systems; cash handling, travelers check verification, credit card processing, Konami, shipping/handling, proper receipt retention, data entry verification, and obtaining ID as required.
  • Directs patrons to proper office as appropriate to seek resolution of problems beyond the information and capabilities available to sales associate.
  • Answer telephones politely, takes and records accurate messages and passes them to the appropriate person.
  • Performs routine daily tasks:
  • Re-stocking and merchandising of inventory
  • Affix price labels as directed by Sales Floor Coordinator.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Maintain and replace/re-stock supplies
  • Maintain clean cases, jewelry, and merchandise
  • Maintain brochure and informative materials

Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

Required:

High School Diploma, or GED Certification.

Two (2) years retail experience.

Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.

License/Certifications/Registrations
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License prior to hire date.
