The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program that helps men and women complete our rehabilitation program. ABOUT OUR RETAIL TEAM

Join the committed Retail Team at The Salvation Army! Together, we serve and impact our community through our commitment to "Do The Most Good" at our Silverado Thrift Store, which funds the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role offers an opportunity to enhance customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, while supporting our program and its participants.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers and donors warmly, providing prompt and courteous assistance to meet their needs.
  • Stock and merchandise items on the sales floor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and donation areas; perform cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Follow POS/Cash Register policies in line with TSA procedures.
  • Ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
  • Attend monthly store meetings.
  • Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect products for defects and damages to ensure quality.
  • Assist donors with removing items from vehicles and provide receipts.
  • Sort donations into proper containers and stack as instructed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to operate POS/Cash Register accurately and handle cash transactions.
  • Must pass background checks, including criminal and sex offender registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects like carts, racks, and furniture.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

SCHEDULE

Our stores operate 7 days a week. Schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure store coverage. Part-time shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required: High School or equivalent

Preferred: Experience in cashiering, retail, or customer service
