Job summary

MAPAL Inc. is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to develop sales plans and drive growth across aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors in the KY, South IN, and North TN regions. This role emphasizes technical consulting, distributor training, and value selling to end-user customers.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree, 5+ years in cutting tooling, and strong CNC/g-code and metallurgy expertise, with the ability to travel up to 50% to meet partners and customers.

Qualifications

• Education mix of hands-on metal cutting manufacturing experience, military, and/or formal education equivalent to a Two to Four Year degree in a technical discipline.
• Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code), tool geometry, and metallurgy.
• Minimum of five years of cutting tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales plans to achieve annual sales budget for assigned territory.
• Identify and capture new growth opportunities within aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors.
• Promote, train and manage MAPAL product offerings to local authorized distributor network partners.
• Troubleshoot complex machining challenges involving milling, turning, and hole-making and hole-finishing.
• Conduct on-site tool testing and performance analysis to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.
• Demonstrate total cost of ownership (TCO) savings to procurement and engineering teams at end-user customers.
