Position Overview

Safety-Kleen in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver. This role involves training to operate a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services within a defined route. Safety-Kleen will cover the cost for you to obtain your CDL.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety by following all safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Visit approximately 10-12 customer sites daily.
• Handle and switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
• Service parts washer machines and clean sediment from sinks.
• Upsell products/services and generate new leads in the field.
• Service automotive repair, fleet, and manufacturing businesses.
• Complete scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups promptly.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Operate vehicles safely according to U.S. DOT and other requirements.
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Class B CDL license.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to perform job functions.
• Successful background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Compliance with OSHA’s facial hair standards for respirator use.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in customer service.
• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL).
