Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Grand Rapids, MI, is hiring a Sales and Service Route Driver to operate a Class B box truck, service parts washers, and perform pickups while promoting products on a defined route. Onboarding includes a mandatory 5-day Safety Kleen Academy in Elgin, IL with paid training and travel support.

The role requires travel to customer sites, compliance with DOT regulations, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL is required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Perform background check, drug test, and physical per position.
• Facial hair must comply with OSHA Respiratory Protection standard (29 CFR 1910.134).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in all duties and procedures.
• Visit 10–12 customer sites per day.
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
• Service parts washers and remove sediment from sinks.
• Upsell at customer locations and generate new leads.
• Serve automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing businesses.
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
• Follow local, state, and federal regulations and DOT rules.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with safety standards.
• Adhere to company environmental health guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Safety-Kleen in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver. This role will drive a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services in a defined route.

This position requires attendance at a 5-day, in-person Safety Kleen Academy in Elgin, IL (1st week at local branch and 2nd week at academy) as part of your onboarding and training. Attendance is mandatory. Safety Kleen provides airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation to/from the Academy, breakfast and lunch, and a $38 nightly per diem. Academy training is paid at your normal rate. Candidates must be able to travel and attend the full 5-day Academy to be eligible for this position.
