The role requires mandatory attendance at a 5-day Safety Kleen Academy in Elgin, IL, with airfare, hotel, per diem, and paid training. On-the-job safety, customer service, and compliance with DOT rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL required at hire; Hazmat and Tanker endorsements must be obtained within 90 days.
• Ability to travel and complete Safety Kleen Academy onboarding.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and medical examination.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class B box truck to service parts washer machines and collect waste.
• Visit 10-12 customer sites per day on a defined route.
• Operate and switch 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions.
• Upsell products and services at customer locations.
• Service automotive, fleets, and manufacturing accounts.
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups.
• Follow local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT requirements.
• Maintain safety guidelines and environmental health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Safety-Kleen in Poca, WV is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver. This role will drive a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services in a defined route.

This position requires attendance at a 5-day, in-person Safety Kleen Academy in Elgin, IL (1st week at local branch and 2nd week at academy) as part of your onboarding and training. Attendance is mandatory. Safety Kleen provides airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation to/from the Academy, breakfast and lunch, and a $38 nightly per diem. Academy training is paid at your normal rate. Candidates must be able to travel and attend the full 5-day Academy to be eligible for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day
• Switch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solutions
• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks
• Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field
• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Class B CDL
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Basic computer and math skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
• Per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL)
