Job summary

Velo Creative, an AI-powered, hyper-local marketplace in Austin, is seeking a part-time social media intern to craft content and engage with the local creator community. You will produce fresh posts for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, edit with CapCut or Canva, and help expand the brand’s reach with hands-on experimentation.

Open to juniors and seniors who already post content; UT Austin-based applicants encouraged.

Qualifications

• Junior or senior (UT Austin or Austin-based) who already posts on social media.
• Ability to edit quickly in CapCut, Canva or similar tools.
• Comfortable on camera and able to articulate ideas verbally.

Responsibilities

• Create 4 to 5 pieces of content per week for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
• Contribute hooks and ideas in weekly check-ins.
• Engage with local businesses and creatives and track replies.
• Reply to comments and messages.
• Promote Velo events (hours paid separately).
• Analyze performance and suggest improvements.

Velo Creative is an AI-powered, hyper-local marketplace that connects local businesses with freelance and student creatives. We’re building it, and we’re proving that human creativity still matters in the age of AI.

The role

We need someone who actually lives on social media to help with Velo’s marketing. This is not a "schedule the posts" internship. You’ll make things, put them out, and watch what happens.

What you’ll do (about 7 hrs/week)

• Create 4 to 5 pieces of content a week for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Phone, fast turnaround. We care about instinct over polish.
• Bring hooks and ideas to a short weekly check-in
• Reach out to local businesses and creatives and track replies
• Reply to comments and messages
• Help promote Velo events. Event hours are paid separately for your time on site.
• Track what’s working and tell us what to do more of

Who we’re looking for

• A junior or senior (UT Austin or Austin-based) who already posts. Your own content matters more than your resume.
• You edit quickly in CapCut, Canva, or similar
• You’re comfortable on camera
• You have opinions about what makes good content and can explain why
• Communications, journalism, marketing, and liberal arts majors are especially welcome
• Interested in startups, local business, or the creator economy
• Reliable, self-directed, and fine with shipping something imperfect today instead of something polished next week
• 18+, and able to attend occasional events in Austin
