Sales Agronomist III - Michigan/Ohio

We are hiring multiple sales agronomists for Western Ohio, Southwest Michigan, Northwest Michigan, Northeast Michigan, and Southeast Michigan. Please specify your preferred geographic region in your application.

The Sales Agronomist (SA) is a key local expert on Bayer Crop Science products, technology, and innovations, advising growers to achieve in-season success. Your role involves fostering business growth through new relationships, identifying pain points, and providing agronomic advice and insights throughout the season. Your expertise will help expand Bayer’s market share and ensure effective execution of agronomic strategies from planning to harvest.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive Bayer portfolio business plans with Field Sales Representatives (FSRs) for your assigned region, focusing on approximately 100 high-growth potential growers.
  • Build relationships with key growers by offering value-added support, including agronomic insights, product selection, and placement recommendations.
  • Lead demand generation plans and support team goals.
  • Provide whole-farm agronomic advice through education, product recommendations, and staying informed on agricultural research.
  • Drive Bayer portfolio trials with targeted growers.
  • Support seasonal milestones such as crop planning, in-season needs, field scouting, and harvest.
  • Collaborate with FSRs, TAs, and SeedPros on business planning and understanding growers’ objectives.
  • Address performance issues and support key grower needs, including PPIs and replanting.
  • Make strategic recommendations to leadership for business improvements.
  • Engage with peers on programs and issues for alignment and support.
  • Monitor grower accounts, track activities, and identify new opportunities throughout the year.
  • Manage an annual SG&A budget and program expenditures. Travel approximately 60% with significant face-to-face interactions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills to interact with organizations and individuals, building strong relationships.

  • Digital fluency with industry tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, sales, negotiation, and influence skills with a proven track record of results.

  • Ability to quickly establish and grow strategic relationships and influence customer behavior.
  • Strong task management and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional networking and consultative sales skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply agronomic knowledge to meet customer needs.
  • Position involves driving for the company, possibly under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, including safe hauling of trailers, products, supplies, or equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or related field preferred.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in agronomy, technology, sales, or marketing.
  • Experience with remote or field sales teams preferred.

This role’s application window remains open until at least June 30, 2025. Compensation ranges from $89,600 to $134,400, with potential bonuses or commissions. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, and more. Salary offers may vary based on market data, skills, experience, degrees, certifications, and other factors.
