Job summary

gpac is partnering with an established agricultural retailer to hire a Sales Agronomist. This role blends agronomy expertise with seed and crop input sales, customer service, and fieldwork, requiring hands-on field support and responsive service to growers.

You will build grower relationships, develop fertility programs from soil test results, coordinate soil sampling, interpret tests and maps, and assist with seasonal input planning and prepay options.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong knowledge of crop production, soil fertility, and crop input products.
  • Agricultural retail or agronomy experience preferred.
  • CCA certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Familiarity with agricultural retail software.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance office responsibilities with fieldwork.
  • Sales mindset and a focus on helping growers succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate seed inventory, product information, and customer records.
  • Support corn, soybean, and cover crop seed sales and marketing.
  • Help growers plan seasonal input purchases and evaluate prepay options.
  • Build lasting relationships through responsive service and dependable follow-through.
