Job summary

gpac is assisting a well-known agronomy company in Ankeny, Iowa, to hire a Sales Agronomist. You will make seed, fertilizer and chemical recommendations to growers and work closely with fellow agronomists to support daily tasks and grow long-term customer relationships.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of agronomy experience and a degree in Agronomy/Agriculture (or equivalent). Self-motivated, able to work independently or with a team, with a competitive compensation and benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of agronomy related experience preferred.
• A degree in Agronomy/Agriculture preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Make seed, fertilizer and chemical recommendations to growers.
• Work alongside other agronomists to carry out daily responsibilities.
• Facilitate positive long-term relationships with customers to create and promote long term repeat business.
• Prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful transactions.
• Forecast supply requirements by month and annual basis.
• Perform a variety of agronomic duties independently.
• Keep up to date on all agronomy services and technology, including seed, Precision Farming technology, finance and marketing tools.
