Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Santa Clara, CA invites interns to explore GF technologies through a project-based role focused on competitive analysis. The internship will be based at our Santa Clara location, offering mentorship, growth opportunities, and exposure to executive networking.

The program targets students in Electrical or Computer Engineering disciplines, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, ready to work full-time during the internship and develop market analysis and strategic insights for GF

Qualifications

• Must be a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, in good academic standing.
• Fluency in English (written & verbal).
• Able to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Understand GF technology offerings and competitive positioning.
• Review customer product portfolios and analyze fit of GF technologies.
• Analyze press releases, earnings calls, and financial statements for competitive insights.
• Read market reports and perform market analysis.
• Assist team with daily processes and long-range planning.
• Support Account Managers with initiatives and client-facing needs.
• Participate in business reviews, sales and strategy meetings, and supply meetings.

Internship Program Overview:

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role:

This internship is a project-based role focused on understanding GF technologies and conducting competitive analysis. This internship position will be based out of and support our Santa Clara, CA location.

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Understand key GF technology offerings
• Review key customer product portfolios and engage with subject matter experts to analyze where GF technologies are a good fit
• Review customer and competitor press releases, earnings calls, and financial statements and present competitive analysis
• Read market reports and perform market analysis
• Assist team in daily business processes and long-range planning
• Communicate status and target dates for milestones and task activities
• Support Account Managers with business initiatives, analysis, and client-facing needs
• Participate in business reviews, sales meetings, strategy meetings, and supply meetings

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Education - At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Experience in analog or digital design and interest in sales strategy and competitive analysis
• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced analytics, problem solving, and effective research
