Job summary

Milestone Contractors is seeking a Salaried Superintendent for Lafayette, IN. The role manages a crew in heavy/highway construction, ensuring safety, quality and on-schedule performance. You will direct craft workers, coordinate resources, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.

Requires 5+ years in heavy highway construction with at least 1 year of supervision; High School or GED is required. Union membership is preferred or attainable.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent or GED is required.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy highway construction, including 1 year of supervision.
• Prior experience in heavy highway construction preferred.
• Union membership in good standing, or ability to achieve and maintain union membership.

Responsibilities

• Supervises craft employees and directs work of laborers, carpenters, operators and Teamsters.
• Assigns and audits work, ensures accuracy of daily timecards and reports.
• Ensures work complies with technical specs, drawings and schedules.
• Maintains safety with daily huddles and training; enforces safety policies.
• Communicates with project manager and supervisors about problems and schedule changes.
• Collaborates with project control, estimating, schedule and equipment to keep the project on track.
