Job summary

Brown University Health in Fall River, MA is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Candidates should have ARDMS RDMS and/or ARRT certifications, BLS, and knowledge of pediatric and geriatric patient care. The role includes day shifts with on-call duties and weekend rotations at Saint Annes Hospital.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and equipment operation.
• Understanding of radiation safety and proper patient positioning.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain ethical and professional conduct.
• Familiarity with pediatrics and geriatrics patient populations.
• Willingness to participate in orientation/clinical education of radiography students.
• Flexibility for overtime and on-call duties, weekend rotations.

SUMMARY:Provides health care services, imaging modality to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology program(s).EDUCATION:Satisfactory completion of a formal Ultrasound training program or equivalent training as specified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).Current ARDMS registered certification with RDMS designation and/or current ARRT registered certification Sonography with RT (S) designation.For technologist primarily performing vascular sonography: current ARDMS registered certification in Vascular Technology with RVT designation and/or current CCI registered certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist with RVS designation and/or current ARRT registered certification Vascular Sonography with RT(VS) designationCurrent BLS certification required.
