Brown University Health in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, is looking for an Ultrasound Technician. SUMMARY: Under general supervision and following established protocols and procedures, operates Ultrasound imaging equipment to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Performs in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures. Follows the facility's standards for ethical business conduct. Conducts self as a positive role model and team member. Participates in facility committees, meetings, in‑services, and activities. ARDMS Certification or ARDMS eligible, which is defined as: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with a minimum of 12 months full time clinical ultrasound experience.
Must be aware of hazards within the department and adhere to safety standards as stated by OSHA. Must possess the knowledge and ability to implement a patient code, report, and respond to a fire or other emergency event on the premises. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. May be exposed to various patient conditions including infectious diseases, blood, and bodily fluids.
