Job summary

Oregon Metro’s Parks and Nature department seeks a Safety and Training Program Analyst to build and manage safety, health, and training programs that protect staff across facilities and field sites in the greater Portland region. The role emphasizes trauma-informed practices and racial equity while supporting mental health initiatives.

You will supervise safety training, ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA and related laws, and collaborate with Metro’s Risk, Resilience and Readiness team to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in occupational health and safety, training and safety program deliverables.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and applicable laws.
  • Experience with NIMS and ICS across agency levels (federal to non-profit).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and implement health and safety manuals, programs and training.
  • Ensure OSHA and other regulations compliance across Parks and Nature.
  • Organize OSHA-mandated Safety Committee activities.
  • Coordinate safety training and emergency response planning.
  • Manage trunked radio system agreements, maintenance and training.
