Job summary

Silgan in Tolleson, AZ is seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to support employee training, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability at our manufacturing facility. You will coordinate training programs, conduct safety audits, investigate incidents, maintain compliance records, and partner with teams across the facility to promote a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.

You will work Monday–Friday with standard benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Silgan is hiring a Safety and Training Coordinator in Tolleson, AZ to support employee training, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability at our manufacturing facility. You’ll coordinate training programs, conduct safety audits and inspections, investigate incidents, maintain compliance documentation, and partner with teams across the facility to promote a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.

What you'll do:

• Develop, implement, and monitor employee training and workplace safety programs
• Coordinate online and in-person training and assist with new employee onboarding
• Conduct safety audits and workplace inspections to identify hazards and support compliance
• Track and report safety incidents, lead incident investigations, and assist with corrective actions
• Maintain injury logs, safety reports, training records, accident documentation, and other compliance records
• Lead the facility safety committee and promote employee safety awareness
• Support compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
• Assist with environmental programs involving waste management, recycling, energy efficiency, and pollution prevention
• Monitor sustainability metrics, including water usage, energy consumption, waste reduction, and emissions
• Support environmental audits, inspections, sustainability initiatives, and reporting
• Partner with operations, HR, facilities, and other teams to support EHS, workplace safety, training, and environmental compliance

What you'll need to have:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in manufacturing and/or workplace safety
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify safety hazards and environmental risks
• Ability to design, develop, and implement effective employee training programs
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment This position requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout a manufacturing environment. Employees may use computers, electronic equipment, hand tools, and other workplace equipment. The facility can be loud and may require hearing protection.
