Job summary

MAU seeks a Safety Trainer to provide departmental safety and training expertise for approximately 80 temporary associates. The role emphasizes driving safety, leading training, and maintaining training documentation across platforms.

You will create standards, train staff to required certifications such as OSHA, LOTO, and equipment operation, and support continuous safety improvements in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional training experience.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing/warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Safety as the top priority and serve as a model for safe work.
  • Lead or assist 4-Step Problem Solving sessions to resolve issues.
  • Create and update Work Standards using Word & Excel; document training in Avionte/SharePoint.
  • Develop and deliver safety and platform training; certify trainees to standard.
  • Create training videos based on Working Standards; maintain Training Matrices.
  • Conduct weekly safety Gemba walks and support MAU Safety Committee.
  • Provide coaching to associates and develop training standards for platforms.
  • Assist with site-wide communications on policy changes and deployments.

Job description

Summary/Objective

The Safety Trainer will be responsible for providing departmental Safety and Training expertise and support for approximately 80 temporary associates.

Essential Functions
  • Safety:
    • Drive SAFETY as the number one priority for MAU.
    • Serve as a role model of Safety.
    • Attend department pre-shift meetings and discuss safety topics.
    • Perform a minimum of two quality SafetyNet Inspections each week.
    • Use Second Obligation to help keep the Team Safe.
    • Assist the Platforms by leading or assisting with 4-Step Problem Solving Sessions as needed.
    • Serve on the MAU Safety Committee
    • Create and update Work Standards using Microsoft Word & Excel.
    • Create training videos based off of the Working Standards.
    • Perform weekly safety Gemba’s.
  • Training:
    • Follow standard training course guidelines:
      • Safety Training:
        • OSHA Required Safety Training
        • LOTO Authorized Training
        • Powered Industrial Equipment Training and Certification
        • Etc.
      • Platform Specific Safety and GMP Training
      • Job Specific Training and Certification
    • Train and certify trainees to the standard.
    • Document the training.
      • Update the Training Matrices in SharePoint.
      • Document the training in Avionte.
    • Provide coaching to all associates.
    • Assist the Platform in developing training standard for their Platforms.
  • Communications:
    • Assist with site wide communications related to policy changes and deployment.
    • Serve as a witness, when required for attendance, work performance, and conduct counseling sessions.
    • Create other communications as instructed by Leadership

Required Education and Experience

Work Environment or Working Conditions

The working conditions and environments that are created by our customer’s facilities both in administrative areas and manufacturing environments. Working conditions will typically be manufacturing or warehouse settings that may include process manufacturing equipment and heavy power industrial vehicles. Environments may vary from non-air conditioned (hot/cold) environments to GMP clean room required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
