Job summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. is seeking a hands-on laboratory technician for the VME3 Safety Test Evaluation Team in the Nebraska area. You will support safety test data collection, setup, and ongoing process improvements in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role emphasizes detail‑oriented work, collaboration with engineers, and ongoing adoption of new testing technologies to advance vehicle safety programs.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in automotive tech, electronics, mechanical systems, or lab ops.
• Demonstrated attention to detail in technical settings.
• Familiar with measurement, scanning, inspection or data acquisition tools.

Responsibilities

• Support post-test activities: measurement coordination, scanning, photography, documentation, and data collection.
• Assist with vehicle setup, teardown, instrumentation, and high-speed camera operations.
• Prepare laboratory for future mobility safety initiatives incl. BEV and autonomous programs.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to execute tests safely and efficiently.
• Develop and standardize lab processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Support digital transformation by improving workflows and modernizing operations.
• Promote safety, 5S, and continuous improvement in daily work.
• Assist in collecting, validating, organizing, and communicating technical data for vehicle decisions.
