Job summary

Performance Contracting Group in Tempe, AZ, is seeking a Safety Technician for Masthead Rigging 521 operations. You will promote safe work practices, support the Accident Prevention Plan, and serve as PCI's safety representative on site.

Requirements include at least 2 years in construction safety, OSHA 30, the ability to lift 40 pounds, and strong communication. Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus; local candidates preferred; this role is safety-sensitive.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years’ construction safety experience.
• Must have OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices and instill an injury-free culture among site personnel.
• Assist with the Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures on jobsites.
• Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities.
• Identify, correct, and mitigate routine and non-routine safety hazards.
• Ensure safety reports and documentation are submitted on time per client requirements.
• Coach employees to achieve compliance with safety plans and procedures.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential health hazards.
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits for compliance.
• Investigate and evaluate injuries and illnesses on the project site.
• Convey a professional attitude as the safety representative of PCI.
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and PPE.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking a Safety Technician for it Masthead Rigging 521 operations based in Tempe, AZ.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnel
• Assist with the administration of PCI’s Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.
• Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
• Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
• Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
• Coach employees to achieve compliance with accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
• Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
• Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCI
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience in construction safety
• Must have OSHA 30 certification
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Displays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently

Preferred Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• Degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety is a plus
• Previous experience conducting safety training is a plus
• Local to Tempe, AZ
