Job summary

Epic Piping is seeking a Safety Technician to join our Fabrication team in Texas. You will enforce safety and environmental guidelines, assist in accident investigations, and help protect workers from hazardous processes.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• OSHA training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Assist in the investigation of accidents to identify causes or prevent recurrence.
• Recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous methods, processes, or materials.
• Inspect workplace environments, equipment, or practices for safety and environmental compliance.
• Assist in coordinating respiratory, hearing conservation, HazCom, and confined space programs.
• Conduct safety training and demonstrate proper use of safety equipment.
• Provide new employee safety orientations.
• Assist in coordinating right-to-know programs for hazardous chemicals.
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
• Inspect areas for fire prevention equipment and safety supplies.
• Provide first aid when needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Comply with safetyand environmentalguidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Assist inthe investigation ofaccidentsto identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
• Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, ormaterials.
• Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental standards, and government regulations.
• Assist in coordination ofrespiratory program, hearing conservation program,HazCommprogram, confined space program, etc.
• Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate use of safety equipment.
• Provide new employee safety orientations.
• Assist in the coordination of “right-to-know” programs regarding hazardous chemicals or other substances.
• Participate in engaging response plans and procedures.
• Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first aid supplies.
• Recommend to site safetymanagementthesuspension of activities that pose threats to workers' safety.
• Conduct facility inspections and audits.
• Assist in providing regulatory training, such as forklift training, respiratory training, hearing conservation training, etc.
• Assist in maintaining a training database.
• Provide first aid care when needed.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required, Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Preferred
• Experience: 1 plus years of experience
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
• Certifications & Licenses: OSHA training a plus
