Job summary

JCB North America in Pooler, Georgia, is seeking a Safety Technician to support Environmental, Health and Safety programs across our manufacturing facilities. The role emphasizes hands-on safety, incident prevention, training, and compliance in a fast-paced production environment.

You will work with the EHS Director and site leaders to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and ensure safe, environmentally responsible operations at our Pooler site.

Qualifications

• Provide day-to-day support for occupational safety and health programs in a general industry manufacturing environment.
• Assist with development and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, programs, and work instructions.
• Maintain a regular presence on the manufacturing floor to observe work practices, identify potential hazards, and provide timely guidance to employees and leaders.
• Support programs related to hazard communication, personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, powered industrial trucks, walking-working surfaces, electrical safety, ergonomics, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, emergency response, and other applicable safety requirements.
• Assist departments in completing job hazard analyses, risk assessments, pre‑task planning, and other proactive hazard‑identification activities.
• Support the selection, use, inspection, and maintenance of required personal protective equipment.
• Promote employee engagement in safety programs, hazard reporting, near‑miss reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with company safety requirements and communicate concerns to the appropriate employees, supervisors, and EHS leaders.

Position Purpose

The Safety Technician supports Environmental, Health and Safety programs and daily operations at JCB North America's headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Pooler, Georgia. Working closely with the EHS Director, EHS Manager, EHS Specialist, operational leadership, and employees, this position helps promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.

This role provides hands‑on support for occupational safety, industrial hygiene, emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, incident prevention, and employee training. The Safety Technician maintains a visible presence throughout the facility, identifies and communicates potential hazards, assists with incident investigations, and helps ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented, approachable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization while maintaining consistent safety standards and reinforcing personal accountability.
