Qualifications

  • Experience with ANSI, OSHA 1910/1926.269, IEEE C95.6-2002 and DOT safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, develop, manage, coordinate, and conduct world-class safety training using LMS and CBT vendors.
  • Perform safety field inspections and observations, visiting multiple sites daily.
  • Conduct root cause safety investigations and implement action plans.
  • Provide safety consultation and guide incident reporting and safety documentation.
  • Develop safety orientations and meetings, maintaining training records.

LCRA is seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist Sr. to join our team near Marble Falls, TX! This is an outstanding opportunity to lead enterprise-wide safety programs and provide safety leadership across multiple departments including Water, Parks, Generation, Transmission, Corporate Fleet & Facilities, as well as Dam and Hydro. How You’ll Contribute
  • Identify, assess, develop, manage, coordinate, and conduct world-class safety training using our Learning Management System (LMS) and third-party CBT safety training vendors.
  • Perform safety field inspections and observations, providing valuable feedback to improve our safety program and visiting multiple work sites daily to review safety practices.
  • Conduct root cause safety investigations, develop safety communications, and implement action plans based on findings.
  • Provide safety consultation and serve as a resource for LCRA staff, guiding incident reporting and other safety documentation.
  • Develop and conduct comprehensive safety orientations, health training, and monthly/quarterly safety meetings, maintaining meticulous training records.
How You’re Qualified
  • Nine or more years of experience in safety and health, utility safety to include water, gas operations, energy generation, electric utility transmission and distribution operations or other relevant experience. Experience must include at least three years of direct safety team experience within an organization to include experience with administration, oversight providing guidance, leadership or instruction to operational staff. Experience must include at least three years of experience with ANSI, OSHA 1910/1926.269, IEEE C95.6-2002, DOT standards and applicable work practices and safety policies.
  • A degree(s) in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, occupational safety and health, public health or related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license
How You’ll Stand Out
  • A minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in the utility sector.
  • Proven track record as a utility crew leader or utility supervisor.
  • A recognized safety certification from an industry association.
