Job summary

Green America Recycling in Hannibal, MO seeks a Safety Specialist to lead and implement health and safety plans across the site. The role emphasizes policy enforcement, incident investigation, and continuous safety improvement for hazardous materials handling.

The ideal candidate will drive training, participate in audits, and communicate safety results concisely up and down the organization while coordinating with site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health or related field or equivalent experience.
• Certifications: First Aid, CPR, DOT, OSHA, MSHA Part 48/46, RCRA.
• 5–7 years of experience in occupational safety with hazardous materials exposure (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage comprehensive safety and health programs in compliance with laws and policies.
• Lead safety meetings, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety training, incident investigations, and case management; communicate findings up the chain.
