Job summary

HazTek Inc. in Des Moines, IA is hiring a Safety Manager to lead on-site safety for large-scale, mission-critical data center projects.

You will shape safety culture, mentor field teams, and ensure operations meet stringent OSHA and client requirements, while coordinating with site leadership. This hands-on role requires strong incident investigation skills, daily safety meetings, and the ability to manage multiple subcontractors in a high-activity environment, ensuring every worker goes home

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting safety on data center or other mission-critical construction projects (or similar high-tech environments).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and client-driven safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site safety efforts for large-scale, mission-critical data center projects
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, client standards, and site-specific safety requirements
• Drive a proactive safety culture through daily engagement, field presence, and relationship building
• Conduct daily safety meetings, audits, and inspections to identify risks and implement real-time solutions
• Oversee and enforce safety compliance across multiple subcontractors and trades in a high-activity environment
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventative actions
• Support high-risk activities including energized work, LOTO, fall protection, rigging, steel erection, and excavation
• Collaborate closely with project leadership, superintendents, and client stakeholders to align on safety goals
