  • The initial project assignment for this position will be in Clarksville, TN. Applicants must be comfortable commuting to Clarksville daily.
Role Summary

The Safety Specialist 2 will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and increasingly complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying and documenting hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Perform safety audits, identify hazards, document findings, and recommend abatements using safety management systems.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
  • Monitor safety program implementation by prime contractors and subcontractors.
  • Attend project meetings to discuss safety matters.
  • Support the safety program implementation, including chairing safety committees.
  • Assist in accident investigations, determining root causes, and recommending process improvements.
  • Coordinate with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return to work, and compile injury reports.
  • Monitor site safety incentive programs.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Identify complex safety issues and provide solutions based on higher safety knowledge.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of equipment, laws, and work processes to safety recommendations.
  • Engage actively in meetings, providing guidance and training on safety topics.
  • Use safety systems and tools to analyze trends and identify problem areas, suggesting mitigations.
  • Support safety leadership during insurance audits.
  • Oversee safety for larger or multiple projects.

Education
