What You'll Do
The Safety Specialist’s Role is the continued leadership to push the Safety Program and Culture forward. The Safety Specialist ensures the organization’s safety programs and objectives are being adhered to.
The Day-to-Day
• Shows commitment to keeping Team Members safe.
• Collaborates with management to communicate, observe, implement, and execute safety policies and procedures.
• Champions safety program to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
• Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, and general safety.
• Leads local location’s safety committee.
• Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
•Excellent leadership and persuasive skills.
• Comfortable with public speaking and presenting
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards – preferred.
• Proficient written, reading, and verbal communication skills in English. Spanish communication skills are a plus.
• Ability to conduct safety training.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to conduct initial incident reports.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Education and Experience:
•Event rental experience (preferred)
• Safety experience (required)
• OSHA 10-hour General Industry training (required)
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Ability to walk throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
• Ability to travel to PEAK job sites as required to conduct safety inspections.
