Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting in monitoring and coordinating the company's safety programs, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, safety audits, and training. This is an in-person position in (location), and remote work arrangements are unavailable for this role.

Your Role:
  1. Monitor and communicate compliance with company-wide safety programs such as driving logs, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other safety compliance programs.
  2. Advise Safety Manager on procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including OSHA and DOT.
  3. Monitor, track, and communicate safety incidents across the company.
  4. Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Lead and guide safety mentors and student interns.
  6. Ensure driver file compliance.
  7. Administer and ensure compliance with the drug and alcohol testing program.
  8. Assist with incident and injury investigations from initial report to closure.
  9. Serve as the Worker's Compensation liaison with managers, employees, brokers, insurance carriers, safety, and HR.
  10. Participate actively in improving safety and health in the workplace.
  11. Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  12. Adapt to changing duties based on business needs.
