Job summary

INTREN is seeking a Safety Specialist to support field operations across customer sites in Missouri. You will lead safety, quality of workmanship, and train crews while promoting OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance and loss prevention initiatives.

Responsibilities include site inspections, enforcing safety rules, conducting incident investigations with root-cause analysis, and mentoring teams to improve performance. Experience in risk management and utility industry knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Risk Management Discipline (Safety, Quality, Environment, Criminal Justice) plus 3 years’ experience.
  • Alternatively, 5–10 years of Foreman or General Foreman experience.
  • Knowledge of natural gas, electrical or underground/overhead utilities preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular jobsite inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Consistently enforce all safety rules and apply disciplinary procedures for violations.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA and DOT compliance.
  • Conduct safety and quality audits and incident investigations with root-cause analysis.
  • Assist management with loss prevention programs and security-related matters.
  • Provide training and mentoring to field teams and coordinate safety initiatives.

N: The Safety Specialist is responsible for a multitude of items ranging from safety, equipment issues, quality of workmanship, technical training and the efficient distribution of tools and equipment. Responsible for promoting exceptional Safety/Quality teamwork with INTREN operations teams at customer work sites. This position assists in resolving process problems and performs safety evaluations and workmanship audits, and promotes improved performance by providing mentoring, coaching, and traini
