The role requires 3–5 years of safety experience, an Associate's degree in Safety or related field, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Travel is frequent; DOT and heavy equipment knowledge are preferred traits for effective training and support.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Safety Science or related field or minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of safety experience in oil and gas or comparable industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and OSHA knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • DOT and heavy equipment knowledge with ability to train/support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned work areas and support for training, inspections, and HSE activities.
  • Mentor and coach employees to foster an incident-free workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; monitor regulatory changes.
  • Interface with inspections and inquiries from agencies as needed.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses; analyze trends to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement preventative measures based on incident findings.
  • Maintain HSE performance data for the area; report on trends and analysis.
  • Lead and present safety material at crew sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Field Safety Representative is responsible for overseeing assigned work areas and provides support for personnel training, safety inspections, and/or follow-ups, and other HSE activities related to the company, client, of regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works with department managers and foremen to provide employee mentoring, coaching, and guidance in making safe choices while working to foster an incident and injury free workplace.
  • Helps to ensure the company maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and stays informed of proposed regulation changes and safety emphasis and focus programs.
  • Serves as a contact for agency inspections and inquiries.
  • Conducts/Assists in response to any investigation of incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Analysis of industry workplace incident/injury/near miss trends and frequencies, specifically those associated within assigned work area and related to company operations.
  • Assists safety management and operations team in development and implementation of preventative measures/controls based on incident findings and root cause analysis.
  • Maintains HSE performance reporting data for their assigned work area.
  • Leads and helps facilitate, train, and present material on HSE performance, incidents, and trend/analysis data at crew engagement sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Associate's degree in Safety Science or related field or minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of safety experience in either oil and gas or comparable industry.
  • Preferred experience with OQ, qualified to train and administer modules.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have some DOT and heavy equipment knowledge and be able to provide training and support in these areas as needed.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Must have a state driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Frequent travel required.
