Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Safety Specialist with construction safety experience to ensure contractors operate in alignment with our safety culture. The role reports to the Project Manager and focuses on compliance with OSHA construction regulations.

Responsibilities include developing pre-job safety plans, reviewing task plans, conducting site audits, and coordinating safety meetings with site personnel and management.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of related construction safety experience.
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations for the construction industry.
  • Current OSHA 500 certification or equivalent.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification, or willingness to be certified.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid TWIC.

  • Participate and assist in developing pre-job site safety planning and follow up on execution.
  • Request and review contractor pre-task plans and JSA's. Provide feedback as necessary.
  • Frequently communicate with key project stakeholders and participate in weekly job safety meetings with construction site personnel and with project management team.
  • Perform regular audits on all construction sites, construction trailers and provide constructive corrective action.
  • Perform and oversee the investigation of job site accidents. Possess strong problem-solving skills to determine accident/incident root cause and follow up on corrective measures.
  • Communicate with contractors with injured worker(s) and share return to work strategy.
  • Partner with respective job site superintendent to develop a project site logistics plan.
  • Track contractor site labor hours and report on construction site EMR rate.
  • Develop and propose construction worker recognition program and/or events for management review.
  • Maintain job site contractor communication boards are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain inventory of PPE and safety materials.

Safety Specialist should have construction safety experience and a deep knowledge of OSHA regulations for the construction industry. The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that all construction contractors and subcontractors operate in compliance with our safety culture.
