Job summary

Infinitek Limited partners with a well-established industrial organization to appoint a Safety Specialist at their Cherokee, AL facility. This hands-on role focuses on supporting day-to-day Health & Safety across the site, delivering training, inspections and guidance to operations and maintenance teams.

You will drive a strong safety culture, lead toolbox talks, coordinate audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and internal standards while working closely with site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline or an Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant plant safety experience.
• 2+ years of Health & Safety experience within chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the confidence to work with employees at all levels.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on plant environment and responding to operational challenges.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety/loss prevention systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive a strong safety-first culture, promoting accountability and stop-work authority across the site.
• Provide hands-on H&S support to operations, maintenance, projects and site leadership.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks and employee engagement initiatives.
• Conduct inspections, audits and assessments while driving corrective actions through to completion.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, fire protection and site safety systems.
• Oversee areas including PPE, safe work permits, air monitoring equipment, rail safety, fire systems and other specialist safety programs.
• Track safety metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure site activities remain compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and internal safety standards.
• Support the Safety Manager and participate in an on-call rotation when required.
