Job Summary
Perform security duties at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and the property, including property assets.
Essential Job Functions
- Assumes duties of the Security Manager in their absence.
- Ensure all safety and security personnel perform their duties following Carillon policies and procedures, and as instructed by the Director of Safety & Security, Assistant Director of Safety & Security, and Security Manager.
- Develops and administers the work schedule for security staff.
- Conducts and oversees training of all new security officers and ongoing training for current officers.
- Oversees the Security Key Control program, Key watcher, and property access control system (SALTO PROACCESS SPACE).
- Ensures accurate input and management of Lost & Found Items in MS SHIFT.
- Arranges and conducts monthly safety trainings, including department-specific topics.
- Reviews security and safety reports for accuracy and completeness; distributes reports as required.
- Prepares and forwards reports to the Director of Safety & Security, Assistant Director, and Security Manager.
- Assists in completing payroll documentation.
- Investigates security and safety incidents, including interviews, documentation, and findings.
- Coaches and counsels security staff as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and good condition of equipment and work area.
- Ensures property patrols are conducted as required.
- Assists management when required.
- Maintains accurate records and conducts inventories of department materials.
- Reports and documents safety hazards or unsafe practices immediately to management.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of security and safety experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to develop good relationships with staff, vendors, guests, and agencies.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good judgment and confidentiality.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 200 lbs and manual dexterity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays if required.
Certifications / Licenses - Required or Able to Obtain
- CPR / First Aid AED certification.
- Class D Security License.
