Job summary

Lifespace Communities in Delray Beach, Florida, seeks a Safety and Security Officer to join our caring senior living team. You will patrol the community, monitor life safety systems, conduct drills, and maintain security records to ensure a secure environment for residents, guests, and staff.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to three years applicable experience.
• A state issued driver's license with a driving record clear of infractions as defined by current insurance mandates.

Responsibilities

• Make scheduled rounds inside and outside of the building to maintain a secure environment.
• Schedule and ensure that all fire and disaster drills are conducted for each shift and accurate detailed logs are kept.
• Maintain security records, including safety inspections, repair needs of equipment, unusual circumstances, and service requests; ensure safety equipment is in good working order.
• Respond to all fire alarms and emergency calls and notify appropriate team members as necessary.
• Have a good working knowledge of all life safety systems.
• Maintain daily guard report of shift and provide detailed explanations of occurrences and ensure information sharing between shifts is accurate.
• Ensure all guests, team members, residents, vendors enter/exit through appropriate entrances with ID as requested.
• Perform light maintenance as needed, such as changing light bulbs or unclogging toilets/drains.
• Transport residents and/or team members on/off the property as needed or requested.
• Deliver packages to residents and distribute in-house mail.
• Greet residents and guests, assist with luggage and packages, and park/retrieve resident vehicles.

A few details about the role:
