Job summary

Lifespace Communities is seeking a Safety and Security Officer for Abbey Delray South in Delray Beach, FL. You will patrol, monitor life safety systems, respond to alarms, and help maintain a safe environment for residents and visitors.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, 2–3 years of applicable experience, a Florida driver’s license, and successful background screening. You will document incidents, assist with drills, and support daily security operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years applicable experience.
• A state issued driver's license with a clean driving record as defined by insurance.
• Background screening per Florida Care Provider requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make scheduled rounds inside and outside the building to maintain a secure environment.
• Schedule and ensure fire and disaster drills are conducted for each shift with logs.
• Maintain security records, including safety inspections and service requests.
• Ensure safety equipment is in good working order.
• Respond to all fire alarms and emergency calls and notify team members as necessary.
• Maintain daily guard reports and provide explanations of occurrences.
• Manage entrances/exits for guests, team members, residents, and vendors with proper identification.
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed (bulbs, toilets, drains).
• Transport residents and team members on/off the property as needed.
• Deliver packages and distribute in-house mail; greet residents and guests.

A few details about the role:

• Make scheduled rounds inside and outside of the building to maintain a secure environment.
• Schedule and ensure that all fire and disaster drills are conducted for each shift and accurate detailed logs are kept.
• Maintain security records, including and not limited to safety inspections, repair needs of equipment, unusual circumstances, and service requests.
• Ensure that all safety equipment is in good working order.
• Respond to all fire alarms and emergency calls and notify appropriate team members, as necessary.
• A good working knowledge of all life safety systems.
• Maintain daily guard report of shift and provide detail explanation of occurrences and ensures that information shared between shifts is accurate.
• Responsible for ensuring that all guests, team members, residents, vendors etc. enter and exit the community and building through the appropriate entrances and exits and provide appropriate identification as requested.
• Perform light maintenance as needed or requested such as changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets/drains etc.
• Transport residents and/or team members on and/or off the property as needed or requested.
• Deliver packages to residents and distribute in-house mail.
• Greet residents and guests, assist with luggage, and packages and parks and retrieves resident vehicles.

• Two to three years applicable experience.
• A state issued driver's license with a driving record clear of infractions as defined by current insurance mandates.
