Job summary

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) seeks a Program Manager for Safety & Security Certification (SSC) to lead the organization-wide SSC program, coordinating with design, construction, safety, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and timely certification of capital projects.

The role requires managing certification deliverables, risk assessments, and training, with a focus on improving safety and security across SEPTA’s multi-modal portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; 5–7 years in capital project planning, transportation safety & security certification or related area.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to deal with a wide range of personnel.
• Proven experience in project management, program management and contract administration duties.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SEPTA’s SSC program and maintain the SSCPP and procedures.
• Monitor active capital projects and coordinate with committees on SSC requirements.
• Ensure Safety Risk Management processes are applied to projects subject to SSC.
• Oversee certification deliverables, records and program documentation; lead SSC scheduling and coordination.
• Coordinate with regulators and other SEPTA divisions; report progress to SSRC.
• Lead SSC program improvement and maintain liaison with regulators and stakeholders.
