Job summary

Legacy Health in Oregon seeks a Safety Security Associate Officer to maintain a safe environment across our facilities. You will monitor security, assist as an informational resource, and may staff desks or observe behavioral health patients as needed.

You will operate legacy screening stations, including X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and searches. The role emphasizes customer service, attention to detail, and clear reporting, with DPSST certifications pursued within required timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• DPSST certification within 14 days; current certificate within 120 days as applicable.
• Security/related experience preferred (Corrections, Military, First Responder).
• Ability to observe behavioral health patients or staff at a desk position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, and physicians.
• Provide courteous informational assistance to customers and visitors.
• Oversee security of Legacy Health property, buildings, equipment, and assets.
• Operate screening stations (X-ray scanners, metal detectors) as assigned.
• Guard or observe designated areas; no arrests or restraints.
• May be posted where full Security Officer is not needed.
