Job summary

San Antonio River Authority is seeking a Safety & Occupational Risk Administrator to lead the safety and risk management for the organization. The role focuses on building proactive safety programs, compliance, and incident response across all departments, with a strong emphasis on preventive controls and cost containment.

The ideal candidate holds an undergraduate degree in a related field and at least five years of progressive safety experience, with preferred CSP/CIH/ASP credentials.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline and five years of progressive safety/risk experience.
• Preferred professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or ASP.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and execute safety programs to reduce injuries and losses.
• Oversee facility inspections and appraise conditions for risk.
• Lead Safety and Risk Management Committee and promote best practices.
• Serve as first contact for safety incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage workers' compensation reporting and liaise with HR and claims.
• Ensure training on safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Develop department budget and safety calendar.
• Prepare monthly safety metrics and reporting.
