Job summary

Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA seeks a full-time Safety Manager to lead our organization-wide safety, compliance, and risk management programs. You will partner with leaders to advance a culture of safety and ensure regulatory readiness across employees, guests, volunteers, and contractors.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 7+ years of experience, and CSP certification (CIH preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive safety/ risk management experience with leadership.
• CSP certification required; CIH preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead safety programs and drive culture of safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of safety and risk management strategy.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry trends.
• Foster safety culture through training and leadership partnerships.
• Oversee safety programs, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Support emergency preparedness and business continuity.
• Build relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations and contractors.
• Monitor safety metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Support budgeting and resource management.
• Respond to emergencies and support operations as needed.
