Job summary

Celanese's Washington Works site in Washington, West Virginia, seeks a Safety / Quality / Training Facilitator (Senior Coordinator, Production) to lead safety, quality, and training programs for Autoclave Packaging.

You will implement safety and quality initiatives, conduct RCAs, train 24/7 teams, manage SOPs, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Aptitude for leading and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs.
  • Able to take calls and work after hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with EHS requirements for daily operations.
  • Lead field review of safety & environmental policies and perform safety assessments with 24/7 Team.
  • Develop and communicate daily stewardship focus and safety indicators.
  • Monitor safety & environmental performance and verify documentation; escalate deviations.
  • Conduct RCAs for deviations/violations and implement corrective actions.
  • Train 24/7 and Core Team Members in stewardship and policies.
  • Develop and manage the unit Hazard Mitigation Plan and safety projects.
  • Conduct life critical audits and employee engagement activities.
  • Issue Safe Work Permits and ensure SOPs are current.

Job description

Overview:

The Washington Works site currently has an opportunity available for a Safety / Quality / Training Facilitator (Senior Coordinator, Production) that will be responsible for the development and execution of the Autoclave Packaging’s safety, quality, and training programs.

This is an on-site position in Washington, West Virginia.

Responsibilities:

Primary (Safety)

  • Maintains compliance with EHS requirements for daily execution for operating area.
  • Lead field review of safety & environmental policies and performs safety assessments per SOPs/EHS Standards with 24/7 Team to identify emerging issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements daily stewardship focus and communicates safety leading indicators to 24/7 and Core Teams.
  • Communicates and strategizes stewardship activities with Daily Execution Leader.
  • Monitors unit Safety & Environmental performance verifies documentation is correct and escalates any deviations/violations.
  • Conducts RCAs for any deviations/violations.
  • Trains 24/7 and Core Team Members in stewardship programs, initiatives, & policies that align with site objectives.
  • Generates ideas and implements safety improvement projects.
  • Develops, implements, and manages the unit Hazard Mitigation Plan.
  • Conducts behavior-based observations, life critical audits, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Issues Safe Work Permits.

Primary (Quality)

  • Maintains compliance with company QMS requirements for daily execution.
  • Lead field review of quality policies and performs quality assessments with 24/7 Team to identify emerging issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develops and communicates quality leading indicators & performance to 24/7 and Core Teams.
  • Conducts RCAs for any deviations/violations.
  • Trains 24/7 and Core Team Members on quality programs, initiatives, & policies and any site changes to ensure alignment.
  • Generates ideas and implements quality improvement projects.

Primary (Training)

  • Unit onboarding lead for all new hires, transfers, & interns.
  • Executes operational training and performs field assessments to evaluate procedure usage with 24/7 Team to identify emerging issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure 24/7 Team are effectively using unit SOPs and procedures.
  • Responsible for keeping SOPs and training materials updated and accurate based on regular review dates, operational learnings, best practices, and incidents.
  • Develops unit training strategy.

Other Responsibilities

  • Models Celanese Core Value Compliance (Stewardship/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People).
  • Ensure good communication and relations with Production Personnel, Business Planners & Schedulers, S&OP Team, Raw Material Coordinators, Unit Leadership Team, and Technical Engineering Staff.
Qualifications:

To be qualified for this role, the following skill sets are required by the site:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Aptitude for leading and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of computer use such as Microsoft office and other special programs as needed.
  • Able to take calls and work after hours on an as needed basis.

The following skill sets are preferred by the site:

  • SAP experience.
  • General knowledge of OSHA regulations and QMS practices.
  • Business acumen related to production process flow, inventory management, and operational costs.
  • Sample Manager (LIMS) experience.
  • Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.

  • Continuous Improvement Activities (Risk Mitigation / Visual Management)
