Nucor Steel Connecticut is seeking qualified applicants for the position of SQ Tech. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, working closely with plant personnel to maintain a robust TM driven safety culture; Promoting workplace safety by identifying and controlling potential hazards; Developing new and/or reviewing current safety programs to determine their adequacy; Safety/Health and Quality training and auditing. Working with the sales and operations teams to ensure we meet and maintain the certifications and documentation needed by customers. Along with helping to cover TMs vacation as needed on the quality side.
Candidate will perform moderate physical activity such as walking in all areas of a large industrial facility, climbing stairs/fixed ladders, lifting and testing steel samples (<10 lbs.), standing for prolonged periods of time. The focus of this role is to support the division with reporting metrics, and to be a resource to help drive continuous safety improvement and help us continue to grow our capabilities on the quality side.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always.

Experience in Safety, Quality, Engineering or related field.
Manufacturing Experience (Steel preferred)
