Job summary

Air Liquide USA LLC in Taylor, TX, is seeking a Safety and Quality Specialist II to lead safety programs, maintain 17025 accreditation, and supervise QA/QC activities in a lab setting. You will develop safety communications, manage near-miss investigations, coordinate JHAs, SOPs, and data templates, and train staff on safety and quality culture.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 8+ years of analytical lab experience.
• Experience with Laboratory QA/QC processes.
• Knowledge of chemical analyses and processes.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Generate monthly safety meeting presentation from Air Liquide template.
• Own weekly near miss meeting and safety champion calls/training.
• Plan and assign JSAs, inspections and submarine drills.
• Report SAS safety requirements.
• Manage safety near misses and action items to closure.
• Maintain accurate and up to date JHAs and PPE matrix.
• Investigate safety issues and manage action items to closure.
• Perform ergonomic assessments.
• Train new employees on both quality and safety culture.
• Train new hires on overall lab safety and evacuation routes.
• Manage and sustain 17025 accreditation.
• Manage SOPs and training associated with changes to SOPs.
• Trend data to ensure lab reports quality data and report KPIs quarterly to customer.
• Trend BECs, LCS, instrument tuning parameters, QC samples, etc.
• Maintain lab databases and data templates.
• Provide support to LIMS administrator on updates/fixes.
• Manage quality near misses and action items to closure.
• Investigate any quality issues or environmental change points.
• Act as subject matter expert for safety and quality for all active projects.
• Perform support and training on spaghetti diagrams.
• Present status of safety and quality KPIs weekly to customer.
• Implement and validate database updates and revisions.
• Implement and validate data template updates and revisions.
