Job summary

FITS LLC in Puerto Rico seeks a Safety Specialist to support occupational safety activities across engineering and construction projects on site. You will generate and review daily permits, review Safety Plans, and assist with reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a project-oriented environment and interact with contractors and cross-functional teams.
• OSHA 30-hour Certification (General Industry or Construction) required.
• Experience in HSE/EHS programs, permits, safety plans review, and documentation management.

Responsibilities

• Support Health and Safety activities across engineering and construction projects.
• Generate, review, and monitor daily work permits to ensure safety compliance.
• Review Safety Plans and verify adherence to procedures and company standards.
• Assist with safety-related reports, documentation, and recordkeeping.
• Coordinate New Hire Orientation and safety onboarding for contractors.
• Support contractor compliance by ensuring safety documentation is current.
• Participate in project safety meetings and support safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of permits, training, inspections, and contractor docs.
• Promote safe work practices and identify safety concerns on site.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate Health and Safety into daily ops.

• Support Health and Safety activities across engineering and construction projects.

• Review Safety Plans and verify adherence to applicable procedures, regulations, and company standards.
• Assist with safety-related reports, documentation, and recordkeeping activities.
• Coordinate New Hire Orientation (NHO) and safety onboarding activities for contractors.
• Support contractor compliance efforts by ensuring required safety documentation is current and complete.
• Participate in project safety meetings and provide administrative support for safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of permits, training, inspections, and contractor documentation.
• Support field activities by promoting safe work practices and identifying potential safety concerns.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure Health and Safety requirements are integrated into daily operations.
