Job summary

FITS is seeking an EHS specialist to support manufacturing projects in Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or five years in regulated industrial/construction environments, is bilingual (Spanish/English) and holds 30-hour OSHA certification.

Shift: first, Monday–Friday, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. You will drive governance, safety metrics, and contractor safety on site, ensuring compliance with national health and safety requirements and promoting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of experience in industrial and construction projects within the regulated industry.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Shift: First (Monday-Friday) & according to business needs.
  • 30hrs OSHA Certification (General Industry or Construction).
  • Experience in Contractors Programs, Machine Safety - Manufacturing Processes, Daily Permit, Reporting, JHA, Toolbox meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program-level governance support to project leaders and management reviews, monitoring manufacturing activities, and presenting performance metrics.
  • Proactively forecast programmatic and project-level safety risks with Project Directors and work with teams to address emerging risks.
  • Ensure compliance with national statutory health and safety requirements.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned across projects.
  • Ensure contractors implement our safety strategy on site.
  • Monitor leading and lagging indicators and support incident investigations.
  • Develop and monitor corrective actions; identify and implement safety initiatives.

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)

  • Provide program level governance support to a variety of Project leaders of management reviews, monitoring of manufacturing activities, developing and presenting performance metrics, developing and delivering safety presentations.
  • Proactively engage with Project Directors to forecast programmatic and project level safety risks and work with teams to address emerging risks.
  • Assure complies with the national statutory health and safety requirements.
  • Where practicable, implement best practice, and lessons learned, across each project.
  • Assure that all contractors are implementing our strategy and safe working practices on site.
  • Monitors leading and lagging indicators and escalates.
    Support incident investigations.
  • Assist and monitor the development and completion of corrective actions.
    Identify and implements safety initiatives.
