Job summary

Connecticut Workers' Compensation Commission seeks a Safety Program Officer to help employers establish safety and health committees and ensure compliance with state requirements. The role involves designing and conducting training, providing practical safety recommendations at worksites, and supporting the agency's oversight of employer safety programs.

This is a full-time position based in Hartford, CT, with Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in occupational safety and health inspections, risk management, or loss control.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA Fire and Life Safety Codes, and other health and environmental regulations.
• Ability to analyze accidents, evaluate workplace conditions, and recommend effective safety control measures.
• Experience conducting safety training and delivering workplace safety guidance to employers.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and utilize computer software.
