Position Overview

Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, day shift.

The Safety Program Officer manages facility safety programs in accordance with regulatory standards for LeConte Medical Center and Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Safety Consultant for Facility Fire Alarm and Access Control Systems.
• Develop and facilitate safety training programs, including orientation and ongoing education.
• Chair and direct the Safety Committee.
• Coordinate safety information and staff communication.
• Develop and manage life safety and emergency preparedness programs.
• Create policies and procedures aligned with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Perform safety inspections and document findings.
• Investigate incidents and exposures, ensuring OSHA compliance.
• Manage documentation related to regulatory compliance, policies, and safety investigations.
• Oversee hazardous materials and waste management per guidelines.
• Develop programs for FDA, OSHA, and EPA compliance.
• Provide safety in-services and participate in meetings and committees.
• Adhere to policies and participate in quality initiatives.
• Attend local meetings and serve on emergency planning groups.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
