We are seeking an experienced Safety Professional to support the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) Project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
The Safety Professional will work as an integrated member of the ALS-U safety organization, supporting safety management across project planning, design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and project closeout.
This position requires hands‑on experience identifying and evaluating workplace and project hazards, developing effective controls, supporting Work Planning and Control (WPC), performing field safety oversight, reviewing technical and engineering documentation, and maintaining compliance with applicable DOE, LBNL, and ALS-U safety requirements.
Experience supporting large construction or complex technical projects within a DOE, nuclear, accelerator, research laboratory, or similarly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
