Job summary

Stone Lion Environmental LLC in Albuquerque, NM seeks a dedicated Safety Professional to champion a culture of safety within a DOE contract environment, supporting SNL/NM. You'll work on-site with construction safety, inspections, and safety plans.

You will identify hazards, develop job plans, coordinate with SNL/NM safety staff, and ensure compliance with OSHA and DOE requirements. The role emphasizes documentation, audits, and training support to project teams.

Qualifications

• DOE security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
• CSP or ASP certification.
• Demonstrated construction safety experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (construction & general industry).
• Experience conducting safety inspections and documenting corrective actions.
• Experience performing safety reviews, hazard assessments & compliance evaluations.
• Experience developing or reviewing safety plans & participating in pre-job safety reviews.
• DOE facilities or federal project experience; 10 CFR 851 preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
• Experience with lockout/tagout (LOTO) methods and NFPA 70 codes.
• Experience in confined space training.
• Experience with rigging and lifting procedures.
• Experience implementing fall protection measures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general safety inspections of construction sites, facilities, equipment, and work practices; document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
• Perform safety reviews, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations to identify unsafe conditions and recommend preventive measures.
• Monitor construction activities for OSHA, DOE, and company/client safety compliance.
• Participate in audits, incident investigations, and root-cause reviews; help track corrective actions.
• Develop, review, and maintain safety plans, JHAs, and project safety documentation.
• Participate in pre-job planning, work reviews, and project meetings to evaluate hazards and controls.
• Review contractor safety plans and coordinate safety expectations with project managers and crews.
• Provide safety guidance, training support, and clear written inspection/review reports to management.

Stone Lion Environmental LLC is looking for a dedicated Safety Professional to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. The Safety Professional position will support a DOE contract that Stone Lion Environmental currently provides to Sandia National Laboratories/New Mexico (SNL/NM). The position will include (not limited to) support for site operational safety programs at SNL/NM, and includes building construction safety, safety inspections and reviews, identifies hazards, develop safety and job plans, interaction with SNL/NM safety personnel (as needed) and helps ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all applicable site SNL/NM safety requirements.

SAFETY INSPECTIONS AND COMPLIANCE

• · Conduct general safety inspections of construction sites, facilities, equipment, and work practices; document findings and follow up on corrective actions.

SAFETY PLANNING AND PROJECT SUPPORT

• · Develop, review, and maintain safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and other required project safety documentation.
• · Participate in pre-job planning, work reviews, and project meetings to evaluate hazards and establish appropriate controls before work begins.
• · Review contractor safety plans and job-specific procedures; coordinate safety expectations with project managers, supervisors, and work crews.
• · Provide safety guidance, training support, and clear written inspection and review reports to management and project teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

• · Current Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
• · Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
• · Demonstrated construction safety experience.
• · Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, including applicable construction and general industry standards.
• · Experience conducting general safety inspections and documenting corrective actions.
• · Experience performing safety reviews, hazard assessments, and compliance evaluations.
• · Experience developing or reviewing safety plans and participating in job planning and pre-job safety reviews.
• · Strong written and verbal communication, report preparation, and organizational skills.
• · Experience at DOE facilities or on federal projects and familiarity with 10 CFR 851 preferred.
• · OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
