Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a part-time Safety Partner for the Emergency Department. The role supports a safe environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, agitation, and other behaviors during the night shift (Mon/Tues, 7p–7a).

Responsibilities include assisting with patient safety, de-escalation, and adherence to policies while contributing to a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program strongly preferred.
• Background with mental health/behavioral health is a plus!

Shift: Part-Time (24hrs) - Mon/Tues - 7p to 7a

Education

• High School Grad or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

• BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• Prior healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program strongly preferred.
• Background with mental health/behavioral health is a plus!
• Core competencies for all safety partners to include communication, confidentiality, de-escalation, fall prevention, patient safety, restraints, stroke, and suicide.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $17.82 - $25.65 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
