Job summary

Jordan's Furniture is seeking a Safety Intern to work closely with our Safety Manager across New England locations. You will lead a safety project, help drive initiatives, and create video training materials to educate teams on safety processes and hazard mitigation.

The role offers a 10-week paid internship based in East Taunton, MA, with opportunities to visit retail store locations. Ideal candidates are pursuing related degrees and ready to learn in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• A rising college junior or senior pursing a degree in Operations, Management, or Occupational Health and Safety.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Safety Operations Team with re-imagining the J-Team Safety Experience.
• Take ownership of a Safety project that will help to drive safety initiatives across the organization.
• Create and edit various video training aids to educate on various safety processes and hazard mitigation methods.
• Gain hands-on experience across all areas of safety operations including compliance requirements for OSHA/state programs and systems like Pulpstream, SharePoint, Velocity SDS management portals.
• Support safety meeting initiatives to reinforce safe work practices and OSHA/state/federal regulations awareness.
• Partner with operations employees to integrate safety into daily operations and increase safety knowledge.
• Research industry trends and safety best practices.
• Other duties as assigned by the department.
