Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a Safety Officer for the West Ridge Center. This per diem, day shift role (0545–1015) supports a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors and staff by enforcing policies and performing safety checks across the facility.

The position requires a high school diploma, prior security or door screener experience, customer-facing skills, and completion of de-escalation training and BLS within specified timelines.

The Safety Officer at West Ridge Center is an integral to providing a safe and secure environment to patients and visitors who access clinical services and the staff who provide care at this location. This position will follow and enforce current policies, procedures, and regulations in assuring appropriate access to the facility. The Safety Officer will also perform a variety of safety and security checks within and surrounding the facility and act accordingly in response to any issues that may arise.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a security or door screener role is helpful.
• Previous experience in customer service or public facing role preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification (required within 3 months of hire)
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association (required within 6 months of hire)
